The Department of Biology offers a joint master's program with the Department of Library and Information Science in which students complete a total of 60 semester hours and receive both a master's degree in cellular and microbial biology and a master's degree in information science.

Applicants for this joint degree must submit one online application to the University, noting the student's intention to acquire both degrees. The M.S.L.I.S. and M.S. are conferred simultaneously after all requirements for both degrees have been met.

  • 60 credit hours: 24-30 in Biology and 30-36 in Library and Information Science
  • GPA: 3.0 or higher
