The Department of English offers a joint master's program with the Department of Library and Information Science in which students complete a total of 54 semester hours and receive both a master's degree in English and a master's degree in information science.

The M.S.L.I.S. and M.A. program enables students to have careers as editors in publishing, humanities librarians, or antiquarian booksellers. Applicants for this joint degree must submit one online application to the University, noting the student's intention to acquire both degrees. The M.S.L.I.S. and M.A. are conferred simultaneously after all requirements for both degrees have been met.
