Women Look To Continue Historic Season

After a historic season, the women's Cardinals team learned its fate during the NCAA Selection Show on Monday afternoon and was announced as an at-large qualifier.

Catholic will travel south to Lexington, Va., to do battle with Penn St.-Behrend. The pod will be hosted by Washington & Lee who will meet Vassar in the other first-round game on Friday, March 1.

The Cardinals will collide with the Nittany Lions on Friday in Holekamp Gym with tip-off set for 5 p.m. The winner move on to the second-round match-up set for 7:15 p.m on Saturday night.

Matt Donohue led this year's team to a 25-2 record and a Landmark Conference regular-season title. Catholic's only loss of the regular season came away at No. 7 Scranton before the Cardinals fell again to the Royals in Saturday's championship game.

This will mark Catholic's sixth-ever berth into the NCAA Tournament. The last Cardinal tournament appearance was two seasons ago in 2021-22 when it fell to Ithaca in the first round.
