Do you love teaching music to your friends or siblings? Do you value music as an essential part of one’s education? Study music education at The Catholic University of America, where you will learn how to share your passion for music with elementary and secondary school students.

There are four major options within the music education department:

Your major courses will focus on perfecting your skills as a musician and providing you with a strong theoretical and practical foundation in music education. Your core university requirements will expand your knowledge with courses in history, literature, and science. You will also have the opportunity to apply your skills in the classroom as part of a student teaching assignment.

When you graduate from the program, you will be well equipped to begin your career as a music educator. Classes in music, education, and the liberal arts, paired with hands-on classroom experience, will prepare you for all of the exciting challenges you will face as a music teacher.
