First-year students explore D.C. in Red Line scavenger hunt

Metro Madness is a citywide scavenger hunt on the Red Line from the Brookland/CUA station to Farragut North. Teams of students get off at each stop along the way to find answers to clues, snap team photos and videos at designated sites, and race to be the first to finish.

The student ministers who organized the event designed the hunt to give first-year students a fast-paced exposure to many of the historic, cultural, and entertainment sites in Washington, D.C. There were five stops on the hunt and each stop included about 10 locations or activities.

The Office of Campus Ministry sponsored Metro Madness as part of its Friday Nights with the House series of events. About 250 students participated. Other events in the series include A Night in Annapolis on Sept. 16, a Washington Nationals game on Sept. 30, and the Homecoming Charity Ball on Oct. 14.
